Defence Forces Secure Access Card (DEFSAC) System
Context
On 7 September 2026, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) to defence acquisition proposals worth about ₹1.10 lakh crore. Among the approvals for the Indian Air Force was the installation of the Defence Forces Secure Access Card (DEFSAC) System.
