1. Hyderabad Metro Phase-2

Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 is a major urban transport expansion project aimed at improving connectivity across Hyderabad. The project proposes 162.5 km of new metro lines spread across 8 corridors, with an estimated investment of ₹43,848 crore. It is designed to connect residential areas, IT hubs, business districts, educational institutions, the airport, and the Old City. The expansion will reduce travel time, traffic congestion, and pollution while promoting sustainable urban mobility. Phase-2 is expected to support Hyderabad's rapid urban growth and strengthen its position as one of India's leading metropolitan cities.

2. Project Overview

Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 is one of India's largest metro expansion projects. It includes 162.5 kilometres of new metro network across eight major corridors, creating an integrated public transport system. The project is expected to improve connectivity between important residential, commercial, industrial, and educational centres. The estimated project cost is approximately ₹43,848 crore, funded through support from the Central Government, State Government, and other financial sources. Once completed, the metro expansion will enhance public transport efficiency, reduce dependence on private vehicles, and encourage environmentally sustainable urban development in Hyderabad.

3. Eight New Metro Corridors

The project proposes eight new metro corridors to improve connectivity across Hyderabad. These include Nagole–Airport, Raidurgam–Kokapet, MGBS–Chandrayangutta, Miyapur–Patancheru, LB Nagar–Hayathnagar, Airport–Future City, Jubilee Bus Station–Medchal, and Jubilee Bus Station–Shamirpet. These corridors will connect major residential areas, IT parks, industrial zones, transport hubs, and the airport. The expanded network will make daily commuting faster, safer, and more convenient. It will also strengthen multimodal transport integration, allowing passengers to travel efficiently across different parts of Hyderabad with reduced travel time.
