1. अहमदाबाद सीरियल ब्लास्ट मामला : आतंकवाद के विरुद्ध न्यायिक दृढ़ता
गुजरात हाई कोर्ट ने वर्ष 2008 के अहमदाबाद सीरियल बम धमाकों के मामले में विशेष अदालत द्वारा 38 दोषियों को दी गई फांसी तथा 11 दोषियों की उम्रकैद की सजा को बरकरार रखा। इन धमाकों में 56 लोगों की मृत्यु और 200 से अधिक लोग घायल हुए थे। यह भारत के आतंकवाद विरोधी न्यायिक इतिहास के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण निर्णयों में से एक माना जा रहा है। इसका तर्क यह है कि संगठित आतंकवाद केवल कानून-व्यवस्था नहीं बल्कि राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा और सामाजिक विश्वास पर हमला होता है। संपादकीय दृष्टिकोण यह दर्शाता है कि आतंकवाद के मामलों में निष्पक्ष, समयबद्ध और कठोर न्याय व्यवस्था लोकतंत्र की विश्वसनीयता को मजबूत करती है। सार यह है कि पीड़ितों को वास्तविक न्याय तभी मिलेगा जब दोषियों को कानून के अनुसार अंतिम दंड तक पहुंचाया जाए तथा आतंकवाद के विरुद्ध शून्य-सहिष्णुता की नीति कायम रहे।
