SHUNYA eVTOL AIRCRAFT — INDIA’S INDIGENOUS ELECTRIC AIR-TAXI PROJECT
Context
On 1 September 2026, Tata Elxsi and Bengaluru-based Sarla Aviation signed an MoU to accelerate development of Shunya, being developed as India’s first indigenous electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. It is designed to carry six passengers and one pilot.
